Well, arrived in US yesterday. What a long day. Got up 4:00am 16th for my first flight. Finally got to bed 9:00pm 16th totally dead on my feet. You may be saying 4:00am to 9:00pm is not a long day 
Well that is 9:00pm Los Angeles time which is 2:00pm 17th Aus EST.
Probably could have chosen a bit more wisely on the motel. Its okay, its clean and cheap and the owner got my room ready quickly for an early check-in. The location is a bit on the poorer side, mostly Hispanic. People around at the local shop seem pretty friendly. Probably would choose central / western Hollywood if I ever came back, much more catered for the tourists.
Had a quick browse around Downtown LA Central while waiting for my motel room. About 10 minutes walk from my motel. Nothing to write home about. Probably a lot more to see there if I had the time. Out on day trips for next couple of days so probably won’t get anymore time downtown.
