Live Spaces is gone! Welcome wordpress

Well the email that windows live spaces accounts were being transfered to WorPress was a bit daunting.

However the transfer process was painless and my blog is almost as per the original.

Now I just have to setup a theme. Gee all that effort I put into making Live Spaces smick all gone :0)

Well the changeover has spurred me on to start blogging again, something that seems to have stopped since returning from overseas.

Going through my Blog, fixing up broken links, I realised I didn’t post much back on my Europe / UK Tour so here is a link to the albums. Click an album to view the photos.

Mountains of Great Britian

snowdon37

Well there are a few challenging climbs in Great Britian.  I have conquered one, Mt Snowdon in Wales, all though I cheated.  I caught the steam train to the Cafe and traversed the final 100 metres by foot.

I am now sitting in my hotel at the foot of the highest mountain in Great Britian, Ben Nevis, Scotland.  Should I give it a go?  Well it was pouring down with rain coming into Fort William so who knows what the weather will be like tomorrow.  It is around a five hour walk for novices like me, that is five hours up, and then four hours down.  There is a novice trail.  It all depends if I can hire some hiking boots.  It would be a highlight of my trip if I give it a go.

Australia is still the lucky country

Well Ozzies, you can stop whinging about the price of things in the country.

While travelling around the UK the average petrol price has been around 1 pound 6 pence.  That’s over $2 Australian.

You also have to pay to pee in public toilet. 20 to 30 p.

And if you think pay parking is bad in Australia then think again.  Here even if its just a little country town with one shop and one pub you Pay and Display.  One place I stopped in I had only intended staying a couple of hours but had to pay for all day parking.  Even when you go to a tourist attraction you pay to park and then pay to go in.

So next time you are travelling along the Hume Highway and pull into one of those nice rest area with a proper loo then think yourself lucky.  That would cost you around 3 pounds 30 pence over here.
